Its time to play the music, Its time to light the lights, Its time to meet the muppets on the Muppet Show tonight.
Its time put on makeup, Its time to dress up right, Its time to raise the curtain on the Muppet Show tonight

That right folks the Muppets are back!!!!!

The Muppet's are back on the big screen in their first theatrical film since 1999’s Muppet's From Space.

This time around after years apart, Kermit, Piggy, Fonzie, Gonzo and the rest of the Muppet gang must reunite, and with the aide of Walter (who is a muppet and the shows biggest fan), his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s fiance Mary (Amy Adams) try to save the old Muppet Show theatre from being destroyed by oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) who plans to demolish the theatre to dig for the oil that is located below it.

In order to save the theatre the Muppet's must raise $10 Million dollars to buy the property rights and the naming rights back from Richman. If the Muppet's can not raise the money they loose the Theatre and their name to a group calling them selves the Moppets who are a Muppets tribute/cover band performing in Reno. They come up with the idea to hold a telethon in order to raise the money. But it seems that they are no longer relevant or popular so  The Muppet's must try to prove that after all the years apart that they are still relevant in today's society.

There are also little sight gags such as Kermit’s 80’s Robot offering people Coke 2 or Tab and Kermit going through a dusty Rolodex calling people to appear on the show.

All the Muppet's who ever appeared on the show are back. there is even a scene where
Beauregard the janitor is discovered to be living in the broom closet thinking the show is still on. (its funny because he hasn't appeared in a theatrical Muppet's film since 1983’s Muppet's take Manhattan)

The film is filled with celebrity cameos in true Muppet film traditions from Emily Blunt playing Miss Piggy's assistant to Whoppi Goldberg as herself along with John Krazanski and Neil Patric Harris and James Carville the cameos are great. there are even a few blink and you will miss them cameos such as Sarah Silverman and Jim Parsons. Jack Black as himself in the film is quite funny as the reluctant celebrity host of the telethon.

The film is the first Muppets movie to be released under the Disney banner. it was written by Jason Segel. It is a must for any fan of the show young and old.
I give it a Solid A+
