Review:The Cape

NBC tries once again to revitalize the Superhero franchise with their latest Television show titled The Cape.  The premise of the show is simplistic to say the least.  An honest cop is betrayed and hunted, fakes his own death and is reborn as The Cape.  He teams with a mysterious woman named Orwell and together they try to take back Palm City from corruption and the villain Chess.

While the first episode set up the series and kept my attention, the second episode fell flat and was almost painful for me to watch.

The series stars David Lyons as Vince Faraday/ The Cape, James Frain (from the Tudors) as Chess and Summer Glau as Orwell.

To be honest this show seems like a poor man’s take on the Batman franchise.  While the first episode had potential, the second episode saw all that potential get flushed down the proverbial toilet.  However I will say this show was still better than seasons 2 thru 4 of Heroes, NBC’s previous attempt at a Super Hero show.
I will continue to watch this show just because of Summer Glau, but do not hold up hope of this show lasting more than the initial order.
