I was jumping for joy over the announcement and was saying wtf over Hardy as Bane. Most people were complaining over the casting of Hathaway as Catwoman stating that she’s a comedic actress and doesn’t have the oomph and sex appeal to pull off the role. To that I say HOGWASH!!!! Anne Hathaway is the perfect choice. Not only is she sexy and will look killer in whatever version of the Catwoman suit they use for the movie, she is also a good dramatic actress. Yes people will say she sucked in Rachael Getting Married, but she was nominated for an OSCAR for that role. You cannot take away the fact that she has fine acting chops and will be the perfect Catwoman to play against Christian Bale. My hope is that the costume for Catwoman is akin to something like what the comic book character wears currently, because Anne Hathaway has the body to pull it off. As for Tom Hardy being cast as Bane, my first concern is GOD I HOPE THEY DO NOT MAKE HIM TURN OUT TO BE LIKE THAT ABOMINATION FROM THAT CLOONEY FILM!!!! That being said I can rest easy knowing Nolan will not mess this up. But still Tom Hardy as Bane? I have to be honest, I do not know much about him other than the fact that he was in Nolan’s last film, Inception and hes English. When Hardy was first announced to be a part of this film, rumors were circulating he would have played Killer Croc. Now I know you readers out there know who Bane is , but just for a recap, Bane is the perfect soldier both mentally & physically who not only knows Batman’s true Identity, but was able to physically defeat Batman by breaking his back in the Knightfall story arc. Bane is impressive in size and stature. The best person to play Bane would have been either Andre The Giant or the Big Show…both of whom wrestlers. But again, I have fate in Nolan. He knows what he is doing, as in the case with Heath Ledger being cast as The Joker in The Dark Knight. So in conclusion I am happy with the casting announcement and look forward to the first official photos and to summer 2012 when we will get to see THE DARK KNIGHT RISES on the big screen. .
