Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena

Starz has hit another home run with the prequel series to last year’s hit Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Gods of the Arena is a prequel set some undisclosed time before Blood and Sand. Most of the original cast is back, minus Andy Whitfield, who will be replaced in season 2 of Blood and Sand due to his undergoing treatment for cancer.

 

This time around the story revolves around the Gladiator Gannicus (played by Dustin Clare) as he becomes the first “Champion Of Capua. The first episode was as usuall nothing short of a must watch, with equal amounts of sex, action and drama. This micro series is slated to run for 6 episodes on Friday nights at 10PM. Returning from the first season are John Hanna, Lucy Lawless, Peter Mensah, Manu Bennett & Nick Tarabay. .
