This year I had the opportunity to attend the 2011 International Toy Fair held at the Javits Convention Center in New York. To best sum up Toy Fair….IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! For those who are not familiar with what Toy Fair is, basically it is an annual trade show held by TIA (Toy Industry Association) where toy makers and buyers from around the globe meet to unveil and sell what they believe will be this year’s biggest toy. From baby dolls to action figures from train sets to board games, IT WAS THERE!!! The show took over the entire Javits center. I was there for only one day and believe me I still didn’t see everything that was being displayed. I was overwhelmed with all the vendors and fantastic toys.
Of the vendors I did see I will do a separate report for each one. Those include Bandai, DC DIRECT, Activision & Hasbro among many others. Unfortunately I was not able to get into the Mattel Pavilion (which was actually the entire Javits North Contention Hall) and Lego. Both of these manufactures required appointments for media.
I took over 500 photos in my one day there and the pictures will all be online later today in addition to my articles.
