The Dark Knight Rises Begins Filming In India and First Set Pic

Earlier this week, the third and final film in the Chris Nolan Batman series, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, began filming in Jodhpur India. However that’s not the big news. The Big news is the photo that was taken on set. More after break..

This photo shows a crew working net to a crater covered in a green screen material. 

Could this be a Lazarus Pit?

So far rumors about the film have indicated that it involves The League Of Shadows and flash backs to a Young Ra’s Al- Ghul and Marion Cotillard has hinted that there is more to her character than was previously announced.

So is this a Lazarus Pit? For those of you who are in the dark, these pits are what gives Ra’s his immortality.  But this is the Nolan verse, so if it a Lazarus pit, what exactly is its powers?

I’m pretty sure more will be revealed as filming continues.

Right now THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is scheduled for a July 2012 opening.
